WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONS
Align your intention, the movement of your body, and the rhythm of your breath, to alleviate tension from travel, mobilize joints, and activate muscles, to prepare for a day of sitting and a night of performance, a common pattern we find ourselves in on the road.
We begin the session moving and breathing with intention, connecting with yourself first so you are open to receive and connect with fellow conference attendees. Next we work out any kinks from traveling to the conference, eliminate the distraction of pain and discomfort in the neck, back, hips and legs, to prepare for a day of being present to sit, walk, listen, and learn. We then loosen the fingers, hands, wrists, arms, trunk, face and jaw to prepare for a night to jam, listen, sing and play.
There is ample time to ask questions, target what is going on in your body, and learn how you can continue to feel optimal down the road.
This session is appropriate for all ages and abilities, conducted seated and standing, with modifications available for those who prefer or need to sit. No special equipment, attire, or experience is necessary.

Movement Techniques to Optimize Performance and Life on the Road

Your breath is your most powerful and available tool to feel better in the moment, and prevent pain in the future. Establish presence, focus your attention, regulate your nervous system and shift how you feel, regardless of your current state, through awareness and intentional direction of the rhythm, volume, and movement of the breath.
Being present is the key to performing your best, but life centered around performance, in combination with travel, management, relationships, and the actions of others you cannot control, can be stressful, exhausting and overwhelming.
In this interactive workshop you learn and practice simple breathing techniques that help you
Calm and balance the nervous system to relieve tension
Ground into the present moment
Focus your attention
Release negative thoughts and energy
Uplift your energy to perform mental and physical tasks
